Tournament is RAIN OR SHINE
first round starts at 9:00 AM. 9am is BATTER UP! get your team there on time.
all other times approximate-- you must start as soon as field is available.
no grace period. game time is forfeit time. the only exceptions are:
if a team is still playing, forfeit time is 10 minutes after their current game ends.
if the field is still in use, forfeit time is 5 minutes after conclusion of that game.
forfeits: teams not playing/completing any game forfeit all games and take last place.
mercy rule: 15 runs by 5 inn.(4½ if home winning) losing team must agree to end game.
games must have 2 umpires. semi-final and final games must have 4 umpires.
teams NOT playing during a round must provide one person to umpire a game.
teams NOT reaching semi-finals must provide one person to umpire semi-finals.
semi-finalists NOT reaching finals must provide two people to umpire the final.
every team plays on each field at least once, no more than twice on any field.
fields are subject to change under certain circumstances, lengthy games, conditions, etc.
each team must supply 3 NEW game balls. a new ball must be used every game.
a coin toss determines home/away for every game. bring a quarter.
confirm ground rules before every game (out of play, infield fly, homers, etc.)
this is a no-protest tourney-- (actually, we don't care for whining, either!)
coaches must report game results to centralized location (tbd) following each game.
bases: please do NOT remove any bases until the end of the day.
this is a divisional round-robin tournament.
top 2 teams from each division advance to a single-elimination semi-final
semi-finals: Red seed #1 plays Blue seed #2, Red seed #2 plays Blue seed #1
tiebreaker rule: any time a team advances because of a tiebreaker rule,
the remaining teams start again from the very first tiebreaker rule.
first tiebreaker: combined head-to-head tourney (CHTH) record among tied teams
(1a) if 2 teams tie for first place, the winner of head-to-head game advances as the first seed
(1b) if 2 teams tie for second place, the winner of head-to-head game advances
(1c) if 3 teams tie for first, a team that beat both others advances as the first seed, then (1b)
(1d) if 3 teams tie for second, a team that has beat both others advances
second tiebreaker: CHTH season record among tied teams
(2a) if 3 teams tie for first, team with best CHTH record advances as the first seed, then (1b)
(2b) if 3 teams tie for second, team with best CHTH record advances
* if regular season games that should be counted in this tiebreaker have not been played:
then (2c) if results of such games do not change tiebreaker outcome, tiebreaker applies
or (2d) if results of such games could change tiebreaker outcome, use next tiebreaker
third tiebreaker: overall season record within division, calculated as a percentage
(3a) if 3 teams tie for first, team with best division record advances as first seed, then (1b)
(3b) if 3 teams tie for second, team with best division record advances

then (3c) if results of such games do not change tiebreaker outcome, tiebreaker applies
or (3d) if results of such games could change tiebreaker outcome, use next tiebreaker
